“ The best way to learn is through stories. Stories permit the

audience and readers to identify and get into the characters

and learn right along with the characters themselves. It makes

learning effortless and enjoyable.”

1. Where's Corporate Storytelling Been?
===============================================
You may be wondering (we hope you noticed!) where we've been,
so here's an update:

Evelyn has learned over the past 3+ years that writing a book about
15 large companies and how they use stories as a management tool
is no small challenge! In fact, that's a story in itself.

After running up a number of blind alleys, spending months and
more months on research; adjusting to personnel changes
among sources; contacts traveling to America's Cup, preparing
for annual meetings, and handling major corporate events and
announcements, she decided to hunker down in a corner
and focus on finishing the manuscript.

Many updates, additional interviews, new versions and revisions
later, she's nearly finished nearly finished and will be sending the
completed manuscript to the publisher next week.

Around the Corporate Campfire: How Great Leaders Use Stories
to Inspire Success will be on the market by early April and should be
available in bookstores by late summer.

2. New E-zine Format
===============================================
This "winter hiatus" has resulted in a fresh look at this e-zine and
a new approach that we trust you'll enjoy. There will be fewer
items in each issue, they'll be brief, and they'll include hyperlinks
whenever available. So this publication will offer a short break in your
workday--a chance to sit back, relax, and enjoy a few minutes with a
few stories about...storytelling, of course!

Photos Worth 1,000 Words?

Most of us have heard stories about how easy it is to commit cultural
faux pas in business/social situations, but relatively little has been
written about cultural differences in photo composition. And yet, there
are many pitfalls that you need to be aware of, according to an article
in a recent issue of The Source for Communicators from Melcrum Publishing.

The fascinating article addresses why Americans often look silly in
their business photos and why businesspeople in other cultures think
Americans also don't look like they're working hard. What kinds of photos
should you put on a calendar and which should you avoid? What do you
need to know to avoid offending others' religious beliefs? And how can you
avoid cultural stereotyping?

Learn the answers to these questions and many other fine points of
telling stories through global business photography. To purchase a copy
